Administrative Analyst
Location: Arcata, CA
Background:
Internews® Network is an international media development organization based in Arcata, CA and Washington, DC whose mission is to empower local media worldwide to give people the news and information they need, the ability to connect, and the means to make their voices heard.
General Function:
TThe Administrative Analyst provides administrative and financial analysis and grants management to Vice President for Administration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- As part of fundraising process, assists in the development of and reviews and edits grant proposals.
- Prepares budget analysis and reviews budgets for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal financial requirements.
- Communicates with funders regarding contract terms and conditions, amendments, extensions, financial statements, allowable costs and line-item adjustments.
- Helps process incoming grants: analyzes and summarizes requirements, provides contract set-up data to accounting, and assures proper distribution of official correspondence to all departments.
- Writes, revises and adapts contracts for making sub-awards to individuals and other organizations.
- In conjunction with Accounting Department, provides analysis and advice on financial management of grants.
- In conjunction with Contract Admin staff, provides administrative and accounting support as needed.
- Oversees the administration of Internews procurement policy and practices.
- Reviews and approves (on own authority) PARs up to $10,000 total invoice amount.
- May approve PARs over $10,000, up to $50,000, when the PAR has been reviewed and recommended for approval by another qualified procurement administrator.
Qualifications
- Experience in and aptitude for accounting and financial analysis, including grant budgeting.
- Experience in contract writing and editing.
- Experience in federal grants management and familiarity with U.S. government grant regulations - helpful.
- Strong computer skills particularly with MS Excel, Word
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- University degree required
