Health Journalist Trainers/Advisors
Location: Overseas
Full-time, long-term assignments

Internews Network (www.internews.org) seeks experienced health journalism advisors for long term overseas positions.  Opportunities for senior print, radio and television journalists to strengthen health reporting in a number of African and Asian contexts are opening up over the next 6 months.

Internews Network is a non-profit organization working in 23 countries to improve access to information by fostering independent media and promoting open communications policies in the public interest.

Internews’ Local Voices program strengthens the capacity of journalists to provide accurate, balanced, in depth, and interesting reporting on important public health issues through intensive training and long term mentoring.  Currently operating in nine countries in Africa and Asia, Local Voices has been successful in increasing the frequency and improving the quality of locally produced radio, print and television reporting and programming on HIV/AIDS and other health issues.

In anticipation of the rapid expansion of Internews’ Local Voices health journalism program to new countries, and diversification to additional public health issues, Internews welcomes interest from qualified health journalists to fill upcoming Resident Advisor and trainer positions.
