This Sunday, October 8, will mark the one-year anniversary of the devastating earthquake centered in northern Pakistan that killed over 80,000 and left 3.5 million homeless.

Already active in Pakistan since late 2003, Internews immediately mobilized to work with local Pakistani journalists in the area of the earthquake to help them play a vital role in the recovery.

Please witness this collaboration in an online photo essay by world-class photographer Mark Edwards, who documented the production of Internews’ daily radio program on the relief and reconstruction effort, Jazba-e-Tameer (The Desire to Rebuild).

The story of Jazba-e-Tameer in Pakistan as well as our humanitarian media assistance programs in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Chad are described in our latest newsletter, Internews Report.
