Internews Works with Local Media in Haiti
Since the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Internews has been working on the ground with local Haitian media and humanitarian aid agencies to get critical information to the people who need it most. Local radio stations in Haiti are airing a daily Creole-language humanitarian information program – Nouvelles-Utiles (News You Can Use) – produced by Internews with local reporters and portable radios are being distributed to Haitians so they can get this crucial information.More

Internews in Kenya organized a roundtable discussion in Nairobi called, New Broadcasting Regulations: Who Rules the airwaves? to analyze the new media laws. Some of the new regulations that were under question by the media industry include cross ownership, renewal of licenses and content regulation.
