Simone Coxe has been involved in the public benefit sector for over 25 years.  Her professional experience is primarily in marketing and communications.

Her philanthropic interests are focused in three areas:  trusted independent media both nationally and internationally; women's rights in the Middle East/Central Asia; and education reform in Northern California. She currently serves on the board of the World Affairs Council, and was previously board chairman of The Pluralism Fund, and was a director on the board of Palo Alto Partners in Education.

In 1985, Coxe co-founded a public relations firm and served as its CEO until 1998, retiring in 2002. Blanc & Otus provides public relations services to the high technology industry from its offices in San Francisco, Boston, Austin, Atlanta, and London. In 1999, the firm was acquired by Hill and Knowlton, one of the largest public relations firms in the world.

Coxe is an alumnus of Sarah Lawrence College and the University of California, Berkeley.
