We are pleased to invite you to a special luncheon roundtable on the media in Haiti. Co-sponsored by the Internews Network, the discussion will be held at the Inter-American Dialogue (1211 Connecticut Ave., NW) on Wednesday, June 3, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. It will focus on the challenges facing journalists and media organizations in reporting from Haiti and examine the role of the media in Haiti’s economic and political development.
Louise Brunet, Internews’ project director in Haiti, will lead-off the session with an overview of the media landscape in Haiti. Claude Fedner, committee leader of RAMAK— a network of community radio stations supported by Internews—will then discuss the importance of community-based media and radio stations.
