Nadia Al Alami is the Vice President for Middle East and North Africa/ Latin America and the Caribbean. She assumed this position in July 2008. Al Alami brings deep regional expertise, experienced project management skills and a keen understanding of issues affecting media and civil society in the region. Her duties include developing and managing the overall MENA/LAC portfolio and regional offices; establishing the strategic vision for Internews projects and presence in the MENA/LAC region, and working with local teams in indentifying MENA and LAC strategies to be presented to the donor community. Al Alami also held the position of Internews Regional Director for MENA from 2005 to 2008. Before coming to Internews, Al Alami was the senior democracy advisor for the Middle East with Pact working on MENA programs under the USAID Civil Society Consortium. She was also a Senior Public Affairs Specialist at the U.S. Embassy in Jordan where she was key in implementing programs related to legal and civil society development and political reforms. Al Alami has a BA degree in Mass Communications and an MA in Conflict Resolution. She is fluent in English and Arabic and in conversational French. |
