Frances Madrone

Finance Director

Frances Madrone is Finance Director for Internews Network, overseeing all financial operations and compliance issues. Madrone is responsible for managing the annual audit process, designing accounting procedures and training staff in their implementation, providing oversight of subrecipients and supervising accounting staff at Internews' administrative headquarters in Arcata and overseas. She previously served as Internews¹ internal auditor and trainer, traveling to a number of Internews' overseas offices. Madrone is part of a team that has had a clean, low-risk audit opinion every year and that in 2005 successfully processed over $25,000,000 in transactions.

Madrone has a degree in psychology from University of California at Berkeley and studied accounting at College of the Redwoods and Humboldt State University in order to become a Certified Public Accountant. She worked for seven years at public accounting firms before joining Internews in 1994.
