Persephone Miel

Senior Advisor

Persephone Miel is a Senior Advisor to Internews Network. She worked full-time for Internews from 1994-2007 beginning in Moscow as Training Director for Russia and eventually working from New York as Regional Director for Europe and Eurasia.

From November 2008 through October 2009, Miel was a Fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at The Harvard Law School where she directed the Media Re:public project, examining the impact of participatory journalism on the information environment. The resulting publications are available on Berkman Publication Series - Media Re:public. Miel continues to write about the media on her Media Re:public blog.

Prior to joining Internews in 1994, Miel hosted an English-language radio morning news show in Moscow.

Miel has a bachelor's degree in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from Harvard College, and is proficient in Russian and French.
