Oren Murphy

Regional Manager for Southeast Asia

Oren Murphy is the regional manager for Internews in Southeast Asia, based in Bangkok. He oversees Internews programs in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, and other countries in the region.

Murphy has eleven years experience in international development, including nine years working in the Southeast Asia region on media, conflict mitigation, and development. He has worked on some of the region's most extensive humanitarian disasters, including Indonesia following the devastating 2004 Asia tsunami.

He has a B.A. degree in Art History from Vassar College and a Masters in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. He speaks English and Indonesian, and has been known to butcher Greek, Arabic, Thai and French.
