INTERNEWS KYRGYZSTAN HOSTS "iEMMYS" SEMI-FINAL: Internews hosted the 2004 International Emmy Awards semi-final round of judging in Bishkek in June. An international jury selected nominees from Asia and Africa in the categories "News Coverage" and "Documentary."

BANGKOK OFFICE LAUNCHED: Internews has opened a new office in Bangkok, Thailand to serve as a regional support office for Internews media development projects across Asia.

INTERNEWS LEBANON OPENS DOORS: Internews opened a new office in Beirut, Lebanon in March to coordinate Internews' seven-country media development project for the region, funded by the US State Department's Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).

HELLO MOROCCO: In April Internews conducted its first training seminar in Morocco, training 42 journalists from print, radio, television, and Internet outlets. The Rabat seminar was coordinated through Morocco's Ministry of Human Rights and the Arab Program for Human Rights Activists.

A FIRST FOR BAHRAIN: Internews Arabic Network held the first-ever professional journalism training in Bahrain in May. Meeting in Manama, eighteen print journalists from Bahrain's most prominent newspapers were trained in professional, fact-based journalism. The seminar was coordinated in cooperation with the Bahraini Journalists' Association.

WORKING ASSETS FUNDING: Working Assets, a long distance, wireless, credit card and broadcasting company that donates part of its revenue to nonprofit groups, has selected Internews as a donation recipient.
