Internews Russia Under Threat

Manana Aslamazyan

Educated Media Foundation (formerly known as Internews Russia) remains shut following an eleven-hour raid on its Moscow headquarters by Russian police in April and an ongoing criminal investigation into its president, Manana Aslamazyan.

Over 2000 Russian journalists have courageously signed an open letter to President Vladimir Putin in support of Aslamazyan and her organization, and an international letter is circulating. From Le Monde to the Economist, there have been a number of news articles, editorials, and statements of support. See the latest news.
