Internews Welcomes Chris Boskin, Simone Coxe and Jim Rosenfield to its Board
April 7, 2008 — Internews Network, an international nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower people worldwide with news and information through media development and assistance, today announced the appointment of Chris Boskin, Simone Coxe and James H. Rosenfield, Sr. to its Board of Directors.
Chris Boskin, Chair of the Board for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, is a highly respected veteran of magazine publishing. Her career has included publishing and marketing positions with Worth Media, Hearst Magazines, the New Yorker magazine, East West Network, and Knapp Communications. She is currently a consultant to several media companies and resides in California with her husband Michael, the T.M. Friedman Professor of Economics and Hoover Institution Senior Fellow at Stanford University. Ms. Boskin’s other board and advisory affiliations include: Board of Directors, College Track; Board of Directors, Educate Girls Globally Foundation; Board of Directors, Sun Valley Adaptive Sports; Member, Leadership Council, Laura Bush Foundation for America's Libraries; Advisory Board, School of Journalism University of California, Berkeley; Advisory Board, Sun Valley Center for the Arts.
Simone Otus Coxe served as CEO of her own public relations firm from 1985 to 1998, retiring in 2002. Blanc & Otus provides public relations services to the high technology industry from its offices in San Francisco, Boston, Austin, Atlanta, and London. In 1999, the firm was acquired by Hill and Knowlton, one of the largest public relations firms in the world. Coxe has been involved in the public benefit sector for over 25 years. A focus of her philanthropic interests is trusted independent media both nationally and internationally. She resides with her family in Palo Alto, California. Coxe currently also serves on the boards of The Pluralism Fund and the World Affairs Council of Northern California.
James H. Rosenfield, Sr. is President of JHR & Associates, a media consulting firm. He spent twenty years at CBS,, Inc rising from Television Network Salesman to President of CBS Television Network, and later, Senior Executive VP of the CBS/Broadcast Group. Rosenfield’s past corporate experience includes serving as Managing Director at the investment-banking firm of Veronis Suhler & Associates and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of John Blair Communications, Inc., a television sales and syndication company. He has also worked for NBC, Polaroid Corporation, and Airequipt, Inc, manufacturer of photographic equipment. He resides with his wife in New York, and currently also serves on the boards of Salon Media Group, Inc., CloudLink, and The Advertising Council.
