KENYA: Betty Tom, an AIDS widow in
Orongo village, fixes a meal for her children. She fought for the right
to her husband's land after he died. Her story is told in a new film, "My
Dead Husband's Land," by Internews Senior Advisor for Health Journalism,
Mia Malan.

in life: that a woman can be empowered and a woman can become strong
and, if a woman knows her right, it is good for her."
