In the Middle East and North Africa, Internews teams with local partners to tailor programs uniquely suited to their particular country’s needs.   Internews’ diverse programs include online, radio and investigative journalism trainings. Internews seeks to improve citizen awareness and involvement in community-level democracy and governance issues as well as empower youth to get involved in shaping the future of their countries.

    When a student was injured one day on his way home from school in the El Mahmoudia district of Aswan in southern Egypt, his friends took him immediately to the local health clinic for treatment. Upon arrival, the group was shocked to discover a serious lack of medical supplies and trained nurses.
