In the Middle East and North Africa, Internews teams with local partners to tailor programs uniquely suited to their particular country’s needs.   Internews’ diverse programs include online, radio and investigative journalism trainings. Internews seeks to improve citizen awareness and involvement in community-level democracy and governance issues as well as empower youth to get involved in shaping the future of their countries.

Internews documents online and offline feedback gathered from refugees and migrants on a daily basis. By providing analysis of this feedback, the review aims to strengthen accountability and close the feedback loop by giving voice to Persons of Concern.

    Some of the concerns addressed in this issue are communicating with the asylum service, pre-registration for refugees at informal sites, and registering at organized sites.

    The Mediterranean rumor tracker is a project that collects all of the rumors among refugees passing through Europe. By identifying misinformation and hearsay and responding to it with relevant, factual information, NewsThatMoves aims to keep the refugee population at the forefront of our communication response.

    The rumor tracker is a project of Internews, Translators without Borders and Action Aid.
